History:  Dr. Archibald Blair acquired this lot in 1716 and built a house. The present house is a later structure, probably built around 1760. Apothecary Peter Hay lived in this house during the 1760's, and after his death, his widow operated the dwelling as a lodging house.
Structure:  This is a two-story, two-room deep house with four rooms on each floor and a central hallway containing the stairs.
Chimneys:  The house has two interior chimneys on the side edges of the house set between the front and rear room on each side, resulting in corner fireplaces arranged diagonally in each room.
