History:  Dr. Philip Barraud, a physician, bought the house in 1785 and owned it until 1801. He lenghtened the original asymmetrical structure ten feet to the right, making it symmetrical.
 
Structure:  This is a story and one-half, two-room deep house with a central entrance and hallway and a staircase in the hallway.
 
Chimneys:  The house has two interior chimneys on the side edges of the house set between the front and rear room on each side, resulting in corner fireplaces arranged diagonally in each room.
